Fiji Airways adds non-stop flights from Cairns to Nadi

Tropical North Queenslanders will soon be able to swap one paradise for another as Fiji Airways lifts off direct flights between Cairns and Nadi on April 10, 2025.

The new thrice-weekly connection will jet off from Cairns shortly after midday every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, landing in Fiji’s balmy travel hub around 4 hours and 30 minutes later.

On the return from Nadi, the 8:30am departure will have travellers landing in Cairns just under five hours later those same three days.

Flights take wing on a Boeing 737 MAX, featuring eight comfortable business class seats offering extra legroom, a greater recline and elevated inflight dining. (Read our full review here.)

Fiji Airways offers an authentic taste of Fijian culture, long before touching down in Nadi.

From Nadi, jetsetters can easily connect to North American travel magnets including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver, along with Dallas Fort Worth.

Dallas Fort Worth (also known as DFW) is of course the headquarters and mega-hub of American Airlines, whose AAdvantage rewards program has recently been adopted by Fiji Airways, ahead of the Pacific island airline’s joining the Oneworld alliance in full member-capacity in 2025.

Cairns Airport CEO Richard Barker hails the new connection for opening “the South Pacific to locals as a great holiday destination or to visit loved ones,” noting Fiji Airways’ full Oneworld membership will allow even greater connections across North America.

From Nadi, business class passengers can enjoy included dining and drinks in Fiji Airways’ tropical Premier Lounge. Or, perhaps change their views on Fijian cuisine with the airline’s Chef’s Table dining experience.
