Emirates upgrades Dubai first class lounge dining

Nobody has ever gone hungry at Emirates’ flagship Dubai lounges, and especially not at its first class lounges.

The à la carte restaurant and sushi bar are centrepieces of the Emirates First Lounge dining experience, but an upgrade to the bustling Emirates first class lounge at Dubai Concourse B now serves up even more options to put on your plate.

An Executive Traveller reader passing through the lounge snapped and shared these photos of what fellow visitors can expect from the freshly-refurbished space.

Like Emirates’ new cabin designs, the lounge’s dining area appears to have dialled down the bling to adopt a more elegant, understated style.

The bakery offers freshly-made sandwiches and rolls of grilled Mediterranean vegetables smoked turkey, mozzarella and tomato, tuna melts and even Balik salmon flatbreads.

Any of those could be ideal for a grab-and-go, especially if you’re an Emirates Skywards Platinum or Qantas Platinum frequent flyer consigned to premium economy or (shudder) economy on the next leg of your trip.

There’s also house-made (or should that be lounge-made?) ice cream with no shortage of flavours or toppings, along with a calorific dessert selection.

It’s almost enough to make you want to book a longer stopover between flights.

And why not? After all, while a 90-120 minute transit is certainly efficient, it’s not really enjoyable – with the clock ticking, there’s no time to relax, to wind down and enjoy this unique part of your Emirates journey.
