Star Alliance opens new lounge at Guangzhou
Nov 22, 2024, 01:08 PMYes, Chinese airport lounges tend to be pretty uninspiring. I'd say the best one is Cathay's Shanghai lounge simply because it has the same excellent design as The Pier etc. Otherwise most airport lounges in China are just bland and more like a waiting room.

Inflight feast: Virgin Australia's new business class menu
Nov 13, 2024, 12:39 PMLooks great, my flights in VA business have all been great meals. Honestly Qantas, is it so hard to step away from the fancy stuff and just deliver solidly on the basics like this? When VA brought back proper business class meals they were all about this 'cafe-style' menu and when it's done well,...

Flying out of Singapore? Get ready for higher airfares
Nov 12, 2024, 12:28 PMWhat fantasy land are you guys living in? You are seriously thinking that Changi should "demolish" three terminals just to get rid of the at-the-gate security? Yes it's a pain, nobody would disagree with you, but get real, as if THIS is a practical or sensible solution!

Cathay Pacific unlocks free WiFi for frequent flyers
Nov 12, 2024, 12:03 PMCounterpoint: Cathay wants to reward its own top frequent flyers who obviously spend big on flying with CX. As a service, Wi-Fi costs money. Qantas Baggage handlers - shocking video
Dec 06, 2022, 12:24 PMSurprised nobody has posted about this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcP6NeoQCHgThis is shocking behaviour and seems like a result of the outsourcing of key operations. People's luggage should have rights and it's disappointing how airlines treat them as throwaway items.

How do you research your trip?
Dec 15, 2021, 11:50 AMA good question, how do we research flights? If there are a lot of options, maybe a destination I'm not familiar with or which has no direct flights. Google Flights really helps to get your head around the options. Then I'd consider which airline gives me loyalty benefits, which has the better bu...

Layover in Singapore (not transit)
Dec 15, 2021, 11:44 AMI agree with David's points above, a one-night stopover simply isn't worth it in this current environment. The old days, the pre-COVID days, absolutely it could be nice to break up the trip, stay at a hotel not too far from Changi and have dinner at that East Coast Lagoon food village. But these ...

Waiting times a joke!
